Gevrey-Chambertin
1er Cru Les Champeaux
Located north of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the upper part of the vineyard, the climat Les Champeaux is a wild natural site. We make only 500 bottles of the climat every year!
This very old vine plot has remained in its natural state with its dry stone walls and bothies (small huts for shelter). Some vines here grow on terraces and the soils are particularly red. The bedrock is close to the surface, the soil is not particularly deep, 20 to 30 centimetres, and very pebbly.
